Postnatal Depression

  • Postnatal Depression is a type of depression some women experience after having a baby.

  • It normal develops in the first four to six weeks after childbirth, in some cases it doesn't develop for several months.

  • There are many symptoms of PND, for example low moods,feeeling that you can't cope with sleeping but some women aren't aware that they have this condition.

 

Symptoms of postnatal depression:

  • ​low moods for a long period of time.

  • tearfulness

  • panic attacks or feeling your life is trapped

  • lack of motivation 

  • feeling lonely

  • feeling guilty or rejected

  • lack of sleep and feeling tired constanly 

  • lack of appetite

 

Causes of postnatal depression

  • ​depression during pregnancy

  • worry and anxiety about the repsonsability of having a baby

  • a difficult delievery

  • lack of support at home

  • relationship worries

  • money problems

  • having no family or friends around you
